Comes back as a 5/4. Just use the cradle and you've got a critter that can even walk away form a wrath of god.

how do u remove the -1 -1 counter from the creature to keep the persist effect to work again.

with cradle of vitality? counters cancel out.

2 mana when it comes back. it gets 3+1/+1 counters and has the -1/-1. That becomes 2 +1/+1. Since it is persist even wrath of god can't prevent it.

it comes back as a 4/3... not 5/4. u only gain counters equal to the amount of life u gain, which in this case is 2, then 1 +1 +1 counter and the -1 -1 counter cancel out.

I'm really pissed about the counters cancel thing, it has made way to many cheap combos with persist, as well as a few other cards that have gotten strange.
