imprint the soliton and khalni gem to myr welder found on mtg official page doesn't make it any less awsome

I got a question? Does this actually work? Since solitron abitity says "Untap Solitron" and not "Untap this creature" Would the untap portion work on myr welder?

Yes it works. When you copy an ability that refers to itself in the abilty. The ability changes ti reflect the name of the permant that has the copied ability. So basically myr has the ability "U:untap myr welder'

Actually it's infinite mana of any color once you build up (Float) enough Blue mana so that you can untap the Myr Welder (imprinted with both the Soliton & Khalni Gem) as necessary!

Then you can Tap it for 2 mana of any one color as much as you want to cast whatever you want. A Sphinx of Magosi might be useful to draw and cast most if not all of your entire Library.

Why mess around with casting you library, 4 blue suns zeniths and diabolic tutors to fetch them. Why cast a library when you can end the game right there?

I'm actually building a Type 2/Standard deck right now around both these infinite combos using the Myr Welder's, Soliton's, Khalni Gem's, Myr Galvanizer's, Silver Myr's, etc. Already have an infinite red mana version built that I'm changing over to blue for the counter-spell type spells as well as the Sphinx and other draw type spells.

BTW: I think you can also use the Blue Sun's Zenith to mill your opponent FTW instead of using it on yourself for drawing cards.

 

 

Will post on Essential Magic Deck Lists when complete.
