Here's a combo a friend pulled on me, but I have a feeling it does not work. Here's the idea. Turn all permanents into artifacts using Mycosynth, then turn all artifacts into creatures with power/toughness equal to their casting cost using March. This would make all lands 0/0, which destroys them. However, your's are protected since Master of Etherium gives all of your creatures +1/+1.

My thoughts on this come way after the fact, but I don't think it works that way. Lands do not have a casting cost, so they could not become creatures, right? I mean, we have Ornithopters that are clearly 0 casting cost, but lands do not have a casting cost, not even a 0 casting cost. So what would happen? Would they become 0/0, or does the combo simply not change lands into artifact creatures?

Haha, yeah it's just a game, but it's fun debating rules and combos. It's nothing personal against him, if anything if I found a flaw in one of his combos it would probably just inspire him to come up with something even more crackheaded.

March of the machines does not look for a casting cost it looks for the converted mana cost(cmc)  Now alot of times this is the same thing, however not everything has a casting cost (ornihopther) but everything does have a cmc.  anything that does not have a cost in the upper right corner is considered to have a cmc of 0.  So lands and tokens have a cmc of 0.  The end result your animated lands are 0/0.  while his are 1/1 due to the static effect of the master.  The combo works fine.

Lands don't have cmc, that's true, But the database says, that lands count as cards with cmc = 0, so I guess, in this case, lands are creatures, too.^^

Such a mean combo... because not only does it kill your lands, you can't play any additional lands beceause they'll become 0/0 creatures too.

wow, that is an awesome combo!
what's more, with that Master of Etherium there, you would keep your lands while destroying all of your opponents (Your lands would be 0/0, true. But his ability makes them 1/1)

The reason that is so good is because they can't keep a land in play. Odds are they can't get mana, which means your lands are protected form being killed with spells by not letting them have any mana.

This works effectively. This is also why I want Mycosynth Lattice for my Artifact deck.

The answer to your question is it works incredibly well in multiplayer!

He pulled this out on a 4 player battle. All of us tried to swarm him with everything we had. We got him down to 1hp before he finally killed all of us (I was playing a pinger deck, so he was one ping away from certain death).
