Mind bend does NOT work for this because it can only change the text on permanents. However alter reality would work for an extra mana. Overall the combo seems a bit too expensive unless you had dumped like 10 creatures in your graveyard, which would probably not happen unless you milled yourself.

Is it the Magical Hack that's needed?

I'm guessing you run this combo when you have a hefty graveyard. U/B has many, many ways of filling your graveyard with critters. Probably wouldn't hurt too much to add another combo in your graveyard deck...

The combo is to clarify conspiracy nightstalkers. Cast return of the nightstalkers change swamp to a land you don't have like montains or plains or forests.
