Or just get two rust ticks. Besides, Unbender Tine is the better choice for artifacts that untap.

use it with Transmogrifying Licid to turn your opponents creature into an artifact, then it works

I don't think this would work because when you untap the rust tick whatever creatures that were tapped with it would be able to untap on their next untap step.

Newb your absolutly right,  rust tick can only lock down 1 artifact at a time

I read at the gatherer that if you find a way to tap more than 1 artifact on the same turn with it, they will all stay tapped indefinitely.

Yes. If you use something like Freed from the Real, you can put any number of copies of the ability on the stack. So long as Rust-tick is tapped by the time the abilities resolve, the targets will remain tapped indefinitely. This is because Rust-tick's state is only checked after the ability resolves.

No, once the tick untaps for any reason the continious effect ends, even if it hasn't started yet.

I know it sounds weird, so I am going to skip my normal paraphrasing and go here is the ruling. I bolded the relevent part

611.2b Some continuous effects generated by the resolution of a spell or ability have durations worded “for as long as . . . .” If the “for as long as” duration never starts, or it ends before the moment the effect would first be applied, the effect does nothing. It doesn’t start and immediately stop again, and it doesn’t last forever.

Example: Endoskeleton is an artifact with an activated ability that reads “{2}, {T}: Target creature gets +0/+3 for as long as Endoskeleton remains tapped.” If you activate this ability and then Endoskeleton becomes untapped before the ability resolves, it does nothing, because its duration—remaining tapped—was over before the effect began.

So once the ability of rust tick or another creature with a duration like that (seasinger), is activated the only way to affect more then one target is to copy the ability
