The way this combo works: target the Pili-Pala with the Grand\'s ability to become Blue. Tap the now Blue Pili with the Grand\'s other ability adding 2 colorless to your mana pool. Use the 2 to use pili\'s untap ability for 1 mana of any color to your mana pool, infanant. 60 red mana in your mana pool is enough to kill your opponant with spikeshot damage in one turn assuming they are at 20 life.

This combo is one that the pros are currently using in extended and it seems to be winning. I have seen deck list with Fauna shamans and wargates to search up all the pieces for the combo. Also played heavy with Reveillark.

Wouldn't this be better with a fireball or blaze?

You can't search up Fireball or Blaze with a Fuana Shaman or Wargate.

Basiclly the deck consist of nothing but creatures. It's a creature deck. The only non-creature spells in it are the incredable Wargate and a counterspell to protect the creatures that are key to making the combo tick. The usual Cheap one - Mana Leak. There is also the preordain and ponder to stack the deck the way you like it. In my opinion, Preordain is a must use in any deck that runs blue. It just doesn't make sence not to run them. If someone doomblades your fauna than you could be screwed. The counters also take care pesky theat like creatures that are being played all over the format (Titans, Baneslayer, BlitterB). The only good metagame is one that nobody expects. This decks new so un answered, it should contend pretty good.
