If you have 8 mana and the enchantment down you can make a Serra avatar equivalent -1 per turn. It doesn't grow but with white you could be pulling in 15 life for 4 mana. Add in the hitter and it is hard to beat.

A friend of mine actually had this combo on the table AND a Serra Avatar for bombing the hell out of me... But he got carried away and went for the biggest life counter he ever had. He was kinda bummed out when I threw out the Backlash :)

Not so much timing in this case... He had me cornered, hence the raging life gaining. I was lucky i drew the backlash! But it was kinda funny!!
