It works, but cost 4 mana. There should be better ways than this. Just saying that the homunclus guy with a thornbite staff on each would cost 2 to re use.

pay one blue and sac a creature? thats to much of a cost. They kinda force you to abuse this guy.

It cost 1 and sac. Next you pay 2 to return the creature and one to untap the wizard. Total is 4 for a reuse. 3 if you can wait for the normal untap step. 4 mana reusable counter spell isn't bad due to the reuseable factor, but endless renewal, Aluren, and any creature with a cost of 3 or less would work. You could also use Endless Renewal and Aluren in other combos in the same deck. More options out there. I just see the total cost of 4 and think there are cheaper ways to do what this one does.
