add a leyline of vitality and gain a life every time a copy comes into play and give them all +0/+1 you will get three hits per creature to help your garden grow faster

Um, I'm probably overlooking something simple, but how exactly does this work?

You pay 1 black to activate pestilence and do 1 damage to all (including phytohydra) which triggers its ability and makes a copy of itself giving you two plants now.

Do it again in the same turn and now you have 3 plants (the original dies because of damage taken but it also makes a copy in the process)

If you do it again in the same turn, you now have 5 plants (once again, the first ever copy dies but makes another plant)

Lather, rinse repeat as needed.

Add in Eldrazi Monument to make them flying and indestructible, so you don't lose your plants.
