I prefer mill. You peel a banana, not a deck.

I can see peel.  It means to take off the outer layer, whichs fits the act since you are taking off the top card, which is the librarys outer layer.

Actually when you think about it mill doesn't really make sense--its a large building and the verb is to grind something to powder in that large building.  Now I don't know about everybody else but I usually play in a dining room which is in a house, which I guess can be a large building but its not very mill like.  and I certainly don't get my deck grinded to powder they are still playable cards when the library is removed.  So milling doesn't really make sense to describe a process of destroying a library, card by card.  A process like that is more along the lines of, I don't know maybe..... peeling a library apart :-O

While you are right, mill is the known term. It is a term/ phrase that may not be entirely accurate, but is well known, like the phrase "money is the root of all evil". At the rate progress is going clockwise/ counter clockwise will be another phrase that is used, but not understood. Basically mill may not be accurate but it is the term used. Also i suspect that the name came about due to the card grindstone, which appears to be the earliest card necessary for a good mill deck.

Not saying the language should change cause it won't the term mill is to established. Just saying it doesn't make sense though I do agree I think it comes from grinddtone as well especially since a mill uses a grindstone to9 do its thing

Millstone? The first "mill" card... That is where it started.

SteveK is right. Millstone started in Revised Edition, Grindstone was Tempest.

Mill sounds cooler though. "mill 5" or "peel 5"?

Well look at it this way... a "Peel" deck sounds way cooler than a Mill deck

I disagree, but that is my opinion. However, it is a fact that I am always right.
