Play a land every turn and restart your life total and double it until your out of land.

In case of drawing cards, you have the OPTION to not draw a card.

I can actually see how someone would think this is a pointless combo, as if you don't loss life the previous turn the combo does nothing, however, as you pointed out just don't seek that turn draw instead.

This combo can be sick in the right deck.  play it with cards that affect your life such as ad nausuem(makes up the draw) and hatred for a real boost.  even more sickness wall of blood/rite of consumption

I dont see how this works. I think that you are reading cards wrong or somthing? maybe?

-If you would GAIN life you GAIN twice that much life instead.

-Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, you may have your life total BECOMEequal to the number of charge counters on Eternity Vessel.

In no way are you gaining life, it simply Becomes the # of charge counters on the Vessel

Whenever there is a change in life total it is either a gain or a lose you don't automatical become that amount  So if the vessel has 20 counters on it and you go down to 10 life via magister Sphinx , you lose 10 life.  when you trigger the vessel you gain 10 life to take you back to 20, boon then kicks in giving you 10 more

Good call gericault5. My bad for questioning you. I looked for something like that but couldn't find anything.

Actually Genericnode it is true, based on rule 117.5, important part highlighted

117.5. If an effect sets a player’s life total to a specific number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up with the new total.

He's right. If you check the gatherer on the wizards.com website, they mention this rule under sppecific rulings for Eternity Vessel.

But it doesn't actually reset it to twice as much. Boon Reflection only doubles the gain, so if you had 20 counters on Eternity Vessel, and you played a land at 12 life, you would go to 28. Similarly, you would go from 15 to 25, 10 to 30, 5 to 35, and for you to actually go to 40 life you would have to play a land at 0.
