Whoops. Anyway, this is how to make either card 5 to 10 mana cheaper to cast.

Forest, island, swamp, plains, mountain --there are only 5 basic land types. Draco and stad only care about the types in play not how many of eeach type

A). No you didn't. All you did is list the cost. I clarified what redpanda said earlier by stating what the basic land types were since there was still confusion

B). You of all people should not be opening their mouth about repeating what people write earlier in the post.

Who died in your family recently?

what makes you think someone died, because I did something you do all the time or that I called you on it.  I'm thinking its the latter.  you don't like when someone calls out your failure, you can't handle it, even when its true.   But it is true, you repeat things that have already been said, many time you do it word for word.  And actually it didn't bother me, but then you have the gall to say i did n't need to say anything because my talking about land types was the same as your talking about cost. when you sit there repeating what others say just to increase your post count.

and If you need an example, here you go, right on the first page, http://www.mtgcombos.com/view.php?fid=2&tid=29490.  Scotty already made it clear, but you have to have the last word and even if you have to say the exact same thing, you will have the last word cause heaven forbid someone catchs up to Turbine in number of posts

I actually had a reason for that post. (Even though I have repeated things on multiple times). I had a link to the official rules website. Some people do care about that. Also, he said that it wasn't errata'd, even though it was.

I think that you are overreacting to a habit of mine.

When I said "No, it looks like they didn't." I was referring to the time counters the other person mentioned.

I'm going to predict Turbine's next post: "I already knew that. I'm just sayin'..."

and like i said turbine it didn't bother me, until you decided to open your mouth and basically say I shouldn't have responed since you did, and if you read my post you would see I actually had a reason for it.  Are you saying its ok for you to clarify what others say but not for anybody else and sure as hell not for something you say.

Here's an idea.  Keep your mouth shut if someone posts a clarification, their doing it so people can learn,  and don;t ask if someone died if you don't like what they say.  thats just stupid.

and if you took 5 seconds to look at what Scotty posted you will see it does accknowledge that it comes from the offical rules

 i second that scotty :)

Think of it like an artifact creature. You don't say that that artifact is a creature type

since there is still some confusion here

305.6. The basic land types are Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest. If an object uses the words “basic land type,” it’s referring to one of these subtypes.

Snow is a supertype so for example a creature type can be a "human soldier or a cat soldier" in this case human and cat are the supertypes.  and soldier is the subtype both those cards will receive any benefits to soldiers, supertype doesn't matter

plains and snow covered plains are the same in terms of subtype (plains), which is what Draco and such looks for.  so there are only 5

Golly, I feel as though this was a confusion I generated. Of course my first mistake was that I read Strat's text as Draco's and jumped to the conclusion Strat's text reduced cost by 2 per basic land type (whoops).

I think tempers got a little higher than they should've though. Yes, Turbine was pointing out that in this circumstance, Draco and Stratadon would cost 6 and 5 respectively. gericault was clarifying for Atir how many land types there were, and Turbine injected that this was already implied by his statement.

And then the blood boiled. I'm pretty sure this is how the play-by-play went.

gericault - "You won't let anyone beat the number of posts you have!"
Turbine - "Who died in your family to put you on edge??"
gericault - "Don't test me heathen! I will be a judge at your next tournament" *cites rules and scribes in a little black book*

Atir pipes in - "Aren't there 10 basic land types?"
Turbine uses an analogy to answer
gericault cites rules from the comprehensive

Turbine sighs to himself but concedes that flashing off comprehensive rules has more legitimacy, even if he already answered the question.

Turbine mutters under his breath - "well at least I have more posts..."
gericault - "Do you always have to have the last word?"

*pause*

Turbine - "yep"

You two both rock my socks, don't try to kill eachother on here. And yes, if memory serves, there was a point in time when they changed the text to time counters for time vault, and shortly after reverted back to the older oracle text. Ah yes, back in the day when wizards was trying to fix the loopholes rather than purposely print new ones each series.

I don't think post count should really be a serious issue gericault. I enjoy people who keep a forum going, and I also enjoy people who know the rules with 90+% accuracy such as yourself. Relax, take a load off.

You need to work on your play by play the dead family came before the post comment and that just throws everything out of line but that doesn't matter, and neither does this post. turbine and I let it go so what's the point of bringing it back up?

if i'm not mistaken,  this is a forum to discuss combos, not try and talk big smack over the internet to someone you will never meet. and if you ever did, well... be lucky its not me

I actually never said anything about my post count. A large number of posts does not a smart person make.

I don't want to go through another argument though.

Gericault, it's an artistic license. It's a caricature of your personalities; it's designed to be satirical and lighten the mood because personally, I think what you two were fighting over was stupid. There shouldn't be hard feelings generated over pedantic quarrels like that.

I thought that it was rather funny, no matter the fact that it brought in things that I didn't say. . .

but I do have the most posts. . .(^_^)

Indeed. Quoting is merely finding another's wisdom. Applying it well is making it your own.
