The life only works on combat damage. This is good to kill anything that could block, but fog or other tricks like that still have the potential to mess this up for the combat damage part.

There's allways a way to destroy a combo. No big news. but anyway - 2 cards no creatures for him till the rest of the game...(and maybe that halflife-loss)

Yes. It is very solid. Simple quick and efficent. Great for a goblin deck.

You could always use Basilisk colar, most likley easier to get and cheaper to play and equip
