during your upkeep, or even your turn, the first time you gain priority to play spells or abilitys is during your upkeep after any "at the beginning of your upkeep" triggers go off.  so while you can turn them into slivers with that ability the time for the trigger has already past so it won't do anything, unless you have another upkeep, ie add paradox haze

Wouldn't this work good if you turned all there creatures in to changlings at the end of opponents untap step. The more plague slivers you have the more damage they would take. This would be awesome against anybody who plays alot of creature. Elf or Sap decks would be hit up.

I don't think you get it. You control the slivs and then change there creatures to changlings after they untap.

actually newb, turbine gets it just fine,

spells or activated abilities (such as unnatural selection) can only be activated when you have priority.  during an turn, since nobody can play anything during the untap step, the first time you as the active player have priority is during the upkeep step  after any mandatory phase change triggers (which are triggers that read "at the beginning of ____ step") are put on the stack.  these triggers can only occur once each phase.  so what happens is what i said earlier, the first opportunity you have to change a creature using unnatural selection is after the "at the beginning of..." triggers are on the stack, so even if you change them the ability won;t trigger again. however, if there was another upkeep, with paradox haze, then you can change them the first upkeep and the ability will trigger at the beginning of the second

Also changling not a creature type, it is a static ability on cards that have the shapeshifter creature type.  so you can not give a creature changling with unnatural selection

How about using shields of the vale, I think that's the name of it,  on there upkeep. Its an instant.

activated abilitys and instants are played at the same speed, you need to have priority, the triggers are already on the stack before you can play shields

Yep, that causes problems with upkeep combos.
