The other card would be Precursor Golem - http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=206348

Kick a rite of replication, targeting any of your Golems. Not only do you get 5 more of each of your Golem tokens, you also get 5 more Precursor Golems, which each bring along 2 more Golems!

So you go from 2 Tokens and 1 Precursor, to 22 Tokens and 6 Precursors!

Then do it again for a truly absurd quantity of Golems!

Fun fact: Each Precursor Golem triggers for any spell which targets a single Golem. So if you target one Golem with a spell, each other Golem is targeted by 6 copies of it!

For optimum effect, target your second Rite at one of the tokens.

Now thinking about it I don't think stifle would work when a spell is casted each token that is a copy of precusser would put theie ability on the stack. There by coping the spell for each golem times the number of precussors on the field
So after the first rite you will have 6 precussers. Which means for the second rite you will have each golem targeted by 6 kicked rites
That will take a lot of stifles

Mindbreak trap instead

How was mindbreak made for this?

It came out a year earlier and you can not pay it for its trap cost you need to pay full price

Mindbreak was designed to deal with cascade and to break the chains that were dominating standard

I know Gericault5. Not for Precursor Golem but more for the mass-ness of spells being cast.

Stifle doesn't target a Golem, so wouldn't be copied by the Precursor's ability.

What it could do is counter the triggered ability and stop a spell being copied for each Golem.

'I just number crunched a second Rite of Replication.

I originally thought this was right. However, today's Cranial Insertion blew me away: 'You'll end up with 233286 Precursor Golems and 3359242 vanilla Golems if you target a Precursor Golems, while targeting a vanilla Golem yields a total of 279936 Precursor Golems and 3779142 vanilla Golems.'

This is because the ability which copies the spell for each golem goes on the stack, and the copied spells go on top of it.... so after you get your new Golems from the first set of copied rites, the second 'copy the spell for each Golem' resolves, and sees all the new golems as well, making copies for them.

The copies created by one precursor golem won't be copied by the others. When precursor golem creates a copy it is put directly on the stack, thus it is not "cast' and does not initiate the other precursor golems second ability. Or in other words - it only copies once to each golem regardless of the amount of precursor golems. All that matters is the literal spell being CAST....
