Have both in play, With painter's Servant in play, declare it's color of choice to be a color outside of your deck color... For Example if your running R/U, declare B,G or W. Then just pay 2 to put any creature card from your hand...

Nice. Just note you can't play the kickers if you do this. Still Protogenisis, akroma, and some others come to mind.
