A classic combo, though I'd probably go with good old Uncle Istvan instead of the Deftblade Elite :)

Personally ill stick with the elite the 1 white is a lot easier then 3 b. So it would come out faster Not to mention the provoke can help deal with creatures with tap abilities. As for preventing is damage a) its activated ability you don't need to prevent it b) venom doesn't require combat damage to destroy everything

No its not flickering spirit anything that is removed from game will cause its auras to go to grave unless its auras go with it. There is a card that removes from combat but don't remember it but that would work as long as its removed after blockers are declared
