If you have both cards in play and your opponent deals damage reducing your life total to zero
Do you still survive because the soldiers that come into play give you your life back? or do you still lose?

once you hit zero you lose.  You lost WHEN your life hits zero.  It all happends at the same time so your life does hit zero at one point and at that point the game is over.  All combat damage goes through at the same time so all the damage would go through then you would get the creatures.  you would be dead before getting your creatures back.

I really like your combo though.

Don't you die at the end of turn? when life totals are checked and so on.

All state-based effects are checked on whenever a player receives priority, what this means is that when an effect finishes resolving (such as a lightning bolt that hit your 3 life total), before the freshly laid triggers on the stack are checked, your life total is checked and if it's at zero you lose the game.

This is part of the reason they changed the rules for life-link in the M10 rules. Before they had made it a trigger ability that read, "Whenever this creature deals damage, you gain that much life." What many players had noticed was that due to timing you wouldn't be able to survive if you hit zero because the state-based check happens before the trigger goes into effect. They changed lifelink's rules in M10 so life-link now reads as a replacement effect, "damage dealt by this creature also causes you to gain that much life."

When you hit 0, time stops and you sweep all your cards back into your library. Spells of yours on the stack wither and die. Then, time resumes.

When you hit 0 life, tiny supercooled cloud droplets (about 10 mm in diameter) freeze. These droplets are able to remain liquid at temperatures lower than −18 C (0 F), because to freeze, a few molecules in the droplet need to get together by chance to form an arrangement similar to that in an ice lattice; then the droplet freezes around this
"nucleus." Experiments show that this "homogeneous" nucleation of cloud
droplets only occurs at temperatures lower than −35 °C (−31 °F).

Damage equal or greater than your life total kills you. Worship can prevent this. Also combat damage is simultaneous. That meas if you are attacked by 3 4/4 creatures you take 12 damage, not 4 damage 3 times. Other than that you combo would give 2 life for every damage taken since you have 3 life gain creatures in that combo. Also check my combos that use Darian. They also use Anthem of Rakdos.
