Probably just to gain twice as much life as you normally would.
Pay the two mana, get 10 life instead of two cards on your next draw.

A wierd way to gain life but i would most likely want the card advantage more.

There is 3 card. Now you can pay 6 mana, add 2 +10/+10 to creatures, and strip 20 life from an opponent. Good enough now?

Even a good life gain deck need a win condition. Cradle of vitality or sanguine bond are good options.

yup.. sanguine blood is my win con on my lifelink deck... vampire nighthawk now can reduce opponent's life by 4... like double strike but standard... hahaha

baneslayer now deals 10 (errr, deals 5 then causes to lose 5 more to attacked player)...
