If you flash bodysnatcher into play, you can discard Emrakul. Emrakul's trigger will go on the stack. The rest of Flash's effect will immediately resolve, causing bodysnatcher to be sacrificed, and causing its trigger ability to go on the stack and resolve to bring Emrakul onto the battlefield.

Use an island and a lotus petal, and you have a 5 card combo for getting Emrakul (or any other creature) onto the battlefield with 2 mana on the first turn.

A Spirit Guide and Gemstone Caverns also would work.

wouldnt this not work because of emrakul's last ability? the moment you discard him you have to shuffle him back into your library

Because Emrakul hits the graveyard, the trigger activates and goes on the stack. However, because Flash is still resolving, no one gets priority until the remainder of Flash's text has finished. You are given the choice of paying two black, or sacrificing bodysnatcher before anyone gets priority again. Once you have chosen to sacrifice bodysnatcher, its trigger will go on the stack above Emrakul's. When you allow bodysnatcher's trigger ability to resolve, Emrakul will no longer be in the graveyard by the time the graveyard-shuffling trigger resolves.

This method is significantly less risky than using channel. Besides, it can be used for any creature with any kind of mana cost, which can't be said for channel.

Does Darksteel Colussus with Leyline of the Void shuffle itself back in?

I read somewhere that you can choose between the two

Yes, it depends on the way you stack it.

Leyline of the Void only affects opponents.

Stick a Splinter twin in there. Multiple Body Snatchers can bring out a lot more big uglies. Or you could stick it on Emrakul.

No, you can't, Tony.
Emrakul's legendary. If you try and copy it, wouldn't you be breaking the 'legend rule'?

Great thing about this, though, is that it's not limited to one color - it may be a U/B combo, but you can use, say, a Plains and a Lotus Petal to get it to work too. Nice one, Ephemerance.

I was looking back at this combo and starting to wonder whether it would actually work.

If flash is resolving, does the caster get to choose the order that the trigger effects go on the stack? Or would the triggers be placed on the stack in the order they are mentioned? When I was thinking about this originally, I was thinking in terms of how interrupts used to work, where an interrupt would create a window that resolves itself before the other card resolves, but obviously the stack works a slight differently.

Does this combo work as is? If not, it's easy to fix, but I'm curious.

No it does not work with the current card selections.  when you flash in bodysnatcher its etb triggers, as part of flashes resolution bodysnatchers is sacced, and the ltb triggers.  however the ltb and etb are not put on the stack until flash finishes resolving and you can choose how they go on the sack.  however while this means you can control how the etb/ltb resolve you have no control over emrukels ability if he's the target of the etb.  though you can always bring out something else.

Add Unmask to make this combo work.

so use unmask to discard emrukel and while hes resolving, flash in the bodysnatcher.  that would work

That's a nice idea.
