Get +2/+2 for every creature in play...wonder how big he would be on turn 3...6/6, 10/10, 20/20. Helps beter with those who double in creature types. Double the type Double the effetiveness of alpha status.

Let's see. How can i make this combo seem more appealing and more deadly......

Splice the deck as green black. Have in hive stone (all your creatures are now slivers), Ambush commander (all your forest are elves), Life and Limb (all your forest are saprolings), Mephidross Vampire (all your creatures are vampires).

That was 4 tribal creature types in one deck idea. With alpha status in play it alone will act as a kill switch for your deck as it feeds off of all your tribes. Add in the changeling with alpha status attached and it becomes amplified feeding off of you and your opponent.

Converted mana costes of said cards:
1) Hivestone-2
2) Life and Limb-4
3) Ambush Commander-5
4) Mephidross Vampire-6

Six lands in play with only these cards in play with the posted combo in play and ignoring your opponents creatures. You are looking at a 2/2 creature turned into a 54/54 creature. With a God Hand you would be looking at turn 5-7 depending on the rest of the construct of your deck.

And just for giggles add in Timber Protector for your lands and changeling to be indestructible with another added beef.

I was fond of Life and limb, timber protector and coat of arms. It was such a nice deck... heartbeat of spring, gauntlet of power, Verdeloth the ancient, thelonite hermit... it was madness, I tell'ya... :)
