no, people knew the rules. but back then, these were the only sets, Alpha, Beta, Unlimited. so you HAD 4 of each in decks. when the game began to expand, thats when they said "this is too powerful" and changed the rules.

Only one Doubling Cube  is needed, in hindsight. 30 mana from the lotuses. 25 mana doubles into 50 damage.

This doesn't work anymore though. DAMN YOU, WIZARDS. DAMN YOU AND YOUR HATRED OF MANA BURN!
