well use something like darksteel ingot to aid in the green so you don't lose any lands as well

you can also use Boil (islands) or FlashFires (plains) both are red cards, make a R/G that wont affect your own forests :)

Use dual non-basic lands. Like Graypelt Refuge and so on.

You can also use wake of destruction... if you know what i mean... cost more though (mana-wise)... but very effective...
