you just need one alphetto, tap as the cost then choose the target as himself, repeat

or maybe a whispersilk cloak... i just got a foil version of it from an M11 booster.... yay for me...

I thought you had to choose targets before activating the ability, so can you target an untapped creature with this ability? If not then you do need the two alchemists.

Yup... Cost then effect... the cost taps aphetto alchemist... the effect untaps it...

and also, yeah you can target an untapped creature because it doesn't have a condition that says untap target tapped creature... so yeah...
