Block or attack with spitemare and have quietus spike attached. When damage is dealt to spitemare play captain's maneuver where x is equal to 1 and targeting another creature your opponent controls. Your opponent loses two creatures due to deathtouch. Finally Spitemare's ability kicks in and the damage to it is sent back equally to your opponent who then loses Half Life rounded up.

Soltari Guerrillas also goes well with this combo. Only works in a slightly reverse way.

Bloodwi11 i would like to thank you for this combo. If it was not for you presenting Spitemare I would have never seen this.

redirecting deathtouch nice.

However, I'm sorry to say that quietus doesn't trigger off of spitemares ability, while spitemare is damaging the player it is not combat damage, which is what the spike looks for.

However, while I'm not 100% sure of this, you might beable to make this combo work if you use captains manuver on the creature spitemare is doing damage too. redirection doesnt change the source of the damage only where its going so it should still be considered combat damage and would trigger the spike.

well in this case instead of spitemare use soltari guerrillas. With shadow you do combat damage to your opponent and redirect 1 damage with captain's manuever to a creature.
Combo complete.

Sorry, combat damage can only be made during the combat phase, when attacking or blocking.

Captain's Manuever is an instant and therfore allowed to be played during the combat phase. When combat damage is dealt you play C.M. in response and redirect as much as you can pay for to another target.

1) Attack for 3 damage with S.G.
2) 3 damage is dealt.
3) In response play C.M. where X is to 1 and targeting 1 of your opponents creatures.

Combate damage is dealt to opponent and he loses half his life. In response to the combate damage redirect 1 damage to a creature it dies. Opponent takes 2 damage.
