Since Demigod is a current subject here is one.

Use buried alive to find 3 demigods. Then play the 4th. Demi's trigger goes on the stack bringing the other 3 into play.

I realize as I write this I have said in the past there is a difference between playing(casting) and putting into play, but never explained the difference. now i don't have the rules with me so here is a nutshell version
Casting-casting(playing) is a multi-step process, now I don't remember all of them, just the important parts 1)Declare what spell your play 2)choose your modules 3)declare targets if necessary 4)pay costs (such as mana, sac, life, etc..) 5)put the spell on the stack. It is at step 5 the spell is considered play (cast) and the demigods trigger occurs. It would be at step 6 an oppenent can couter or respond or the spell sits on the stack until resolution-So yes demigods trigger occurs even if its countered-in fact, if its countered before the trigger resolves it will come back as a result of its ability
Putting into play-is commonly a result of a spell or ability resolving from the stack. usually a spell must be played before anything can be put into play.
Coming into play-the act of a spell or ability moving from the stack to the battlefield.

I hope this clears some things up, and again this is the layman, nutshell version
