Just in case the answers 5 thread gets way down the list, i'll post my question as a combo...


Well, how many +1/+1 counters will Ajani's Pridemate get?

My guess is 25 +1/+1 counters but correct me if i'm wrong... hope he gets more...

I'd guess he gets 5, because there are 5 instances of life gain.

I don't even know where you got the number 25, shakii.
He only gets five counters when you play RoR and kick it.

Because you copy Ondu Cleric.... when Ondu Cleric or another ally enters the battlefield the life gain happens.

Each one triggers from itself coming into play. Each one triggers the others from "another" ally coming into play.

I see where he got 25, it's logical but incorrect.  The wording says "when you gain life" not "for every point of life gained this way".  Since you gain life 5 times you gain 5 counters.  If you got a 1/1 for every point of life gained however, you would get 5  1/1 counters for every point of health gained, and since you gained 5 life 5 times it would be incredible.

though it has already been answered in another thread I repeat it here

you get 30 counters

the reason being is when things come into or leave the battlefield at the same time they see each other come and go so when the cleric is copied with a kick

5 clerics come into play each triggering its ability for itself =5 triggers of life gain

each each of these 5 clerics sees 4 others coming into play=20 more triggers of life gain

the orginal cleric sees 5 clerics coming into play=5 more triggers of life gain 

this gives you a total of 30 seperate triggers of gain life equal to the number of allys, so 30 +1/
+1 counters on pridemate and 180 life for you

gericault5 is correct. This also makes ghostaway very powerful in a ally deck.

I wish I had Ghostway. It gets rid of counters though. Someone kept using Mystifying Maze on my creature, even though I had out an Ondu Cleric.

but it's a good defensive card and offensive on allies...
