I would like to somehow abuse the hell out of this. Need a way to be able to untap Marrow-Gnawer a lot or infinite times to get tons of 1/1 rats with fear.

Also need a way to get Marrow-Gnawer out quickly since he's pretty spendy.

Would like to keep it mono-colored.

So, I would pay 2 to use the staff that's equipped to the gnawer to kill on of the rats so I can tap him again to make more?

Haha, I had already forgotten Marrow-Gnawer's ability. Wow... That makes it even better. :)

if im correct, the rats are token creatures which disappear when they die

They still hit the graveyard, then they get destroyed.

I was just going to take it from here, but if you want to post a decklist idea, go for it.

I don't really how to build this whole deck but some things you should run:
Cabal Coffers/ Crypt of Argadeem: Accels you into Gnawer
Swarmyard: Don't run this with the coffers, but it could help protect Gnawer
Tutors: Whatever you got, obviously you need to find your pieces.
Lab Rats: Rats to sac
Nezumi Graverobber: Doubles as a sac target and graveyard hate
Swarm of Rats: Gets big
Crypt Rats: Board wipe if necessary, and a rat.
Ratcatcher: More search
That's all I can think of, I'm sure there's more you can do. Add removal of course.
