This way, you get an 8/8 flying and trampling creature with the typical dragon ability for only 6 mana. Of course you need to play Doubling one turn before the Dragonlord.

just wondering... do level up creatures com into play as level 1 with 1 level up counter on them? or do they come into play as level 0?

I'm pretty sure they come into play as "Level 0". Take Joraga Treespeaker for example... he has three "stages" - basic stage, Lv 1-4 stage, and Lv 5+ stage...

Well, they start out with 0. If they started out with 1, why would cards like Joraga Treespeaker have a p/t on the leveler line?

Also there is the option of Gilder Bairn, Paradise Mantle, and Training Grounds. Yah it is 3 cards, but it works for any level up creature, and allot more.

Yup... it works... And for your info the dragonlord is not a dragon no matter what level it is...
