Indeed it does. Throw in a Gemstone Array (which you can pay for with two taps of the Monolith) to get infinite colored mana.

2. Island. Basalt Monolith. Power Artifact. Gemstone Array. Fireball.

you forgot, win! and not fireball, that's the easiest to counter next to disintegrate... use banefire or demonfire or something other than fireball...

Turbine, you don't have enough mana for that second turn. The basalt monolith costs 3 to put out (one island and the sol ring), then implements of sacrifice costs 1 to sac for 2 (the last island), use that 2 for the power artifact leaving you with 0 mana. You can't untap the basalt monolith without 1 mana, so you would have to wait another turn.

It doesn't come into play tapped, so you can just pull off the combo right then and there.

Well, this certainly is old.

Turn 1: Island. Sol Ring. Mind Stone.
Turn 2: Island. Tap Sol Ring and Mind Stone for Basalt Monolith. Tap both Islands for Power Artifact. Tap Basalt Monolith for 3. Untap for 1. Repeat. Play Emrakul. Win.
