A decent mono-color creature generator with just as good destructive capability.

EDIT: Noticed the combo wouldn't work without a fourth Mountain land. Fixed.
EDIT #2:
[VOID!]

Unfortunately, this combo no worky.

The Blade of the Bloodchief puts +1/+1 counters on the Spawning Pit, not charge counters. You can only spend charge counters on it's ability, so you will still need to sacrifice two creatures for each spawn token.

Also, you only get one attack phase each turn. It's impossible to attack with a spawn, sacrifice it, then attack with another one, unless you have some effect granting extra combat phases.

Finally, Burst of Speed only affects the creatures you control when it resolves, further creatures you gain will not have haste.

Well, crap. I didn't even notice... I thought it was just like a limited "Doubling Season".
Also, you only get one attack phase each turn. It's impossible to attack with a spawn, sacrifice it, then attack with another one, unless you have some effect granting extra combat phases.

Example: "Finest Hour" or "Aggravated Assault"... double crap. And here I was confident that I made a good mono-color combo. No way I'm paying to change that...
... might be a reasonable compromise, though.
Finally, Burst of Speed only affects the creatures you control when it resolves, further creatures you gain will not have haste.

Then why does it say "creatures you control...until end of turn"? Ah, damn you, WotC and your ambiguous wordings...

...I somewhat wish I had the power to delete my combos now.

Things like Burst of Speed have an implied 'creatures you control at this moment' on them, in a similar way to how Wrath of God only destroys creatures currently on the board, and Mutilate only debuffs them.

You could try Fervor or Emblem of the Warmind, though they are more expensive mana-wise.

Like an extra one mana for Emblem of the Warmind would make that big a difference in the long game.
And maybe Energy Chamber and/or Coretapper to substitute Blade of the Bloodchief...

...ah, it'll come to me if/when I sleep on it. All I know is I tried... and failed. Horribly.

You can also use haste enchantments...
