You could also win if you have sanguine bond in play.

I dont think this combo works.  If you put a +1/+1 counter on a creature with a -1/-1 counter.  It would have both counters on it therefor the -1/-1 is negated but the counter is still there so it would go to the graveyard.  Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Juniper Order Ranger has been used in so many persist combos.

That changed during the rule changes of magic 2010. The rule is" 120.2

If a permanent has both a +1/+1 counter and a -1/-1 counter on it, N +1/+1 and N -1/-1 counters are removed from it as a state-based action, where N is the smaller of the number of +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters on it. See rule 704. State-Based Actions." This is found at http://www.ebbemunk.dk/magic/index.html.

It changed when they did away with mana burn.

So, in simple terms they cancel out.

i know persist combos are overused but theyre my favorite. now that persist is type 1 only, time to abuse some Stations. Blast em grind em, lets do the torture dance! Woodfall primus is my favorite one, get mighty emergence and Phyrexian...Overlord? and you got a kill em bust em setup in B/G, lolz. Crush them all~

Even if said cards are not legal in said formats, my point is that the ancient cards such as Altar of Dementia and..Goblin Bombardment? make this instant win when established properly. Fun fun, dum de dum.

Well, there will be a few combos if there is a limit to combos like type and legalities...
