they wont die.

the vessels ability is a MAY ability, they can choose wether or not to activate it.

Are you just copying what we're suggesting?

Answer for question 1:
Because, with mind slaver, you decide for that player, meaning you decide if you want to trigger landfall of eternity vessel... and of course who wouldn't want to trigger a 0 charge counter Eternity vessel on your opponent's side of the field...
