play painters servant first and choose a color then when iona enters the battlefield choose the same color now your opponents can\'t play anymore spells. i know 9 mana is high for iona thats why your deck has to be creative in ways to get high cost creatures onto the battlefield.i happen to use various artifacts to do it.PS-iona, shield of emeria is the second card in this combo but its not in data base yet from zendikar

Shields of Velis Vel, and try multicolor with a few low tap changelings ike Mothdust and Ameboid. You will pull out the angel quickly o.o that is ownage

I meant either use shields OR low tap changelings. lol don't need both. but really low game iona D;
