Cast the Cathodion, sac it to the Altar, gives you 5, ER returns it back to your hand, so you cast it again burning up 3, but netting you 2. yay.

It also works with the 3 cost black creature that adds 3 black mana when it is played.

Priest of Gix... yeah, i thought about him, but Cathodion keeps it mono white...the Priest does give infinite black mana though, as opposed to the Cathodion which only gives colorless...

Add a Masticore into that combo, and that might actually work.

I would suggest Triskelion since it is infinite colorless mana.

This her would fit perfectly:


first make inf mana, then sac the Cathodian for life, then use the Gemstone array or Phyrexian Altar to produce w and b, then exile all opps non-land permanents.
