I use Rockslide because he gets bigger as you sac the tokens...

Thornbite Staff is better then the quest.

If you use the sharpshooter, you get 1 token per turn with elemental mastery. so you kyren the elemental for 1 damage, you sac for 1 damage, then you sharpshoot for 1 damage for a total of 3 damage per turn.

If you use Rockslide, you get 1 token with elemental mastery first time.
You kyren the elemtal for 1 damage, then you sac for 1 damage (add a counter on rockslide) for a total of 2 damage first turn. Next turn you put 2 tokens into play for total of 4 damage (and you add 2 more counters on the rockslide. By second turn, you do as much damage as sharp shooter. Turn 3, Rockslide is now power of 4 so you do 8 damage.

So, total damage with Sharpshooter is 3N where N = number of turns in play.
Whereas total damage with Rockslide is 2 to the Nth power.

the last three are just suggestions, the snake is brutal though. The only other card with poison text like it is sabertooth cobra.
