Sac the Safehold Elite to the Phyrexian Altar it comes back to play due to persist. Use the Quillspike to remove the -1/-1 counter from the Safehold Elite (also using up the mana produced by the Altar). Sac the Safehold Elite again and again to make a huge Quillspike or add in a gravestorm card, or a card that activates when a creature hits the grave yard.

wow... the redcap is a great idea... and it would keep it in mono black, with all of black's nice searching and temp mana exel...wootness to the maximus.

But the other accel have drawbacks... While all the red accel, none... Just pay the mana cost and go...

instead you could use juniper order ranger and you would get +1/+1 counters and infinite mana
