I found this combo wile playing EDH. Didnt even know it was there until both cards came out in a game. I was set on comming up with a way to make it into a competitive deck and knew that ZEN block was the best chance. After a few days of testing against the meda game and countless times of thinking it would finally run cinsistantly, everything came together and the deck started running as smooth as any other deck in the format. From everything that I have found, as for as know my bulid it the only one of its kind in the format. And ontop of the abiltiy to any game with two cards and enough mana no matter what life totals are at and almost no matter what the board looks like, game one my opponents will make plays that they would never do if they knew what I was planning. After putting some key cards in the sideboard, I have been at least going 3-1 on the reg in daily events online. So far the only real "bad match up" is R/W. I've ajusted things as much as I could to make up for this, but even after sideboard it can be a tuff match up. The only other deck that can give it some trouble is UGR when Jace and cobras. And only if you don't have an answear for a turn rwo cobra and the drop jace on the next turn and you dont have a counter for it. But like I said, game 1 they really dont know what your doing and tend to leave them selfs open and  it seems to come into effect the most in this match up. After sideboard things are way more likely to go your way. Everything else I can count on the win in most cases. Eldrazi decks are by far the best thing you could hope to play against. If your smart, and a trap card doesn't go off into a 15/15 pro colors, its a breeze. After sideboard its almost impossible for them to win, and like I said, the times they have is because they got a desprit trap off that i didnt have a counter for and I was lucky enough for them to hit that fatty. I really wanted to hear from other people who tried my deck and talk about strat and see if they found anything that might work better. i posted on mtgsalvation and still haven't heard a word from anyone. So I'm putting the deck list on hear along with what i found to work best when sideing in and out in what match ups. The best part is that you Jaces are a luxery in the deck. It still runs great with out them making it one of the most coast effective and fun decks in the format. All I ask is that you get a good idea how the deck runs befor anyone starts bashing it as not turny worthy. That means buliding it and playing it. I spent alot of time making sure it could deal with the meda game and tested so many builds its silly. Would love to hear from you if decide to build and play the deck. Anything from what you played against, how the deck broke down, or anything you've tested in the deck that you find works better. I would just appreciete it if anyone asked that Auski1337 came up with the design. Looking forward to hearing from ya'll. Enjoy

4 hellkite charger
3 bear umbra
4 burst lightning
3 sphinx of lost truths
2 commet storm
4 harrow
1 growth spasm
4 khalni heart exp
4 oracle of mu daya
4 spell pierce

3 misty
4 E wilds
3 depth
6 forest
5 mountain
5 island
1 r/g ref

If you have more sack lands then put them in of course, this is just the cheepest land base that I found keeps the deck running smoothly. It's designed to get around the most common LD that you will see in the format. mono red is the only deck that runs rolling terrain so remember to wait on the harrow if you dont have a pierce in hand. And always sack the depth possible.

Sideboard

3 lavaball
4 into the roil
3 cancle/ deprive
3 flameslash
2 forklightning

laveballs are better then ruin baster in THIS deck because its the only one that ramps with red and with all the sack lands in the format you can get one off early and criple their whole start. Alot of the mana ramp other decks use are crits and this makes lavaball even more effective. Not seeing them in game one means that you wont have to worrie about them playing around the card. But if you side them in you might have to slow down your early ramp plays in order to remain open to cast it.

Cancle/deprive are a sort of as-you-see-fit card. I put them in mostly against WB if I see one. I lean more to using deprive only because I will sometimes put 2 in against mono red and RW. I dont do it every game and the only reason deprive might come in against RW is because they have started to side in the pro red guys and you have nothing to deal with it if they can get enough equipment out. And as you will read, a few into the roils help with this too.

Into the roil has been a card that I went back and forth with alot on weather or not it was better in the main deck or sideboard. In the end I needed the space to fit in sphinxs. Finding that they are the most effective way to draw cards and act as counter bait and a blocker. The roils are amazing against Eldrazi decks because if one hits play, you can bounce it back as long as its not the fat one. The also rock against anything that runs walkers and a few come in 2nd game against RW for thier pro red dude.

The rest speaks for its self. Most of the burn will come in against your worst match up RW. All 3 flame slash come in game 2 against mono red incase they are running and or side in the dude that makes everything cost 1 more. The deck really hates paying extra for things and if you dont have an answear early your in big trouble. But burst lightnings, commet storm, and trading 2 spell pierce for deprive makes the chance of that happening rare.

R/W

siding out

2 sphinx

1 growth spasm

1 oracle

2 spell pierce

siding in

3 flame slash

2 deprive/ 2 into the roil

1 forklightning

Burn the crits and counter the equipment. You can leave the spell pierces for game 2 if you want, they are still amazing for getting rid of the equpiment. But if you start getting your face smashed by the pro red guy you might have to chang things up. this is one of the things that is still not clear to me on what is best

Again this is your worst match up so I made sure to put what I know up hear and would love input on anyone who has tested against it. I ran out of time for the others so just go off of what was said about why I have what cards in the sideboard. i will get back to anyone who wants to know everything else.
