Could you trigger haunted crossroads in response to sacrificing ornithopter before fecundity goes off?

well with an almost solid black deck you could throw in null profusion and draw out yur deck haha

or:
Sacrifice Ornithopter to Ashnods Altar.
Get 2 Mana.
Fecundity goes on the stack. 
In response to Fecundity, put Haunted Crossroads on the stack
Crossroads resolves
Fecundity then resolves, you draw your Ornithopter.

so yes it does work, you just have to do it in the right order. :)
