With the preview of the Needlebite Trap from Zendikar, I immediately thought of this. ( I miss having internet!)

Needlebite trap lets you play it for just 1 black mana if an opponent gained life this turn.

Grollub lets gives your opponents 1 life for each damage dealt to it, while the Grove lets you snag 1 red mana for something like lightning bolt, and give an opponent life from it.

So for 1 Red and 1 black....7 damage, and you gain 5 life. Pretty decent trade off imo.
