So, here's how I see this.
1. Sac Myr #1 to the grinding station.  Untap using Dross Scorpion's ability.
2. Cast Cauldron Haze giving Myr #2 Persist.
3. Sac Myr #2, returning Myr #1 to your hand and Myr #2 to play, untaping Grinding Station.
4. Sac Myr #2 to Ashnod's Altar, using the 2 Mana to cast Myr #1.
5. Sac Myr #1 to Ashnod's Altar, returning Myr #2 to your hand.

Repeat.

However, I don't know if this works because it can continue iff Myr #2 retains persist when it goes your hand.

i think something is needed to give the myrs a 1/1 counter when they come into play otherwise the persist is only good once

The negative counters would fall off when it is put into the graveyard.  The questionable part is if it retains "persist" when it goes to your hand.

no it doesnt. It would only work once.

EDIT:- use summoning station instead of haze and dross scorpion.

It lets you sack a creature to the alter, and every time you sack a retriever to the grindstation it untaps as an artifact creature hits the GY. then you have an infite mill engine.

The counters do not fall off when it goes to the graveyard. Are you crazy? That would be overly broken.

Could you give me a link to that rule?  I'm not sure you are correct.  I do realize now, however, that the creature would lose persist when it re-enters play, so the combo doesn't work, regardless.  Your comment, however, would imply that counters on a creature are never removed at any point, except by, of course, +1/+1 counters.

@Turbine

Once a permanent leaves the battlefield, it will lose all counters and Auras attached to it... -1/-1 counters from persist is put there when the creature with persist comes into the battlefield...

use caldron of souls rather then the haze, dross scorpon can then untap as you sac your myrs to continuelly give persist

unfortunatly even with that change this combo won't make it past step 3 as it is.  when myr 2 comes back to play it has a -1/-1 counter at which time sbe's are checked see it is a 0/0 and sends it to the grave before you have a chance to sac it.  you need something to give your creatures a boost like glorious anthem or master of etherim

Shakii, I had thought that he meant that you could sacrifice a Persist creature indefinitely.
