It is your deck that you search, not theres. This would work if you could force them to chose to play the elves, but not unless you can force them to search there deck, and play the elves they find.

I believe Turbine is saying that when the Elfie uses the Planeswalker super ability, Turbine plays his blue instant and gains control of all of the elves that were going to come in for poor Elfie.
