Play swamp, lotus petal, play dark ritual, entomb, sacrifice petal for blue mana, get Serra Avatar, stifle Serra Avatar's triggered put into graveyard ability, cast Exhume FTW!

Though the first turn sneak attack, serra avatar is better than this (posted by Twogunkid, of course)...

Yeah!! Refrenced, but I don't think it works since Avatars is a replacement effect.

Serra Avatar is a replacement effect too? How about Legendary Eldrazis?

Serra avater and the eldrazi go to grave ability is a triggered ability not a replacement effect,  this combo works fine.

Notice the word "When" at the start of the ability, "When", "whenever", "at the beginning" are words that signify a trigger ability, in other words-when this event occurs, this happens

The most common word associated with replacement effects is "instead" (see darksteel colossus)-to signify the phrase - if this occurs, do this instead

If you use shallow grave you can keep it mono black and loose the petal.
