Good for land control, creature control, and everything in between. Mix that with some cards that untap artifacts and you're set to stop basically any attacker and any major enchantment or artifact threat. Whispersilk cloak included!

Mix it with a discard deck, and you can permanently dismantle your opponent.

The combo can get dicey in multiplayer because everyone starts seeing you as a problem, but it's a great tactical defence to get.

It's like putting counter spell on the scepter. It works buy everybody thinks your a #@&!.

I was being hyperbolic. But the beauty is that even if someone targets the scepter with a generic "destroy target artifact" you can return it to your hand with the boomerang ability and recast.

Well, Isochron scepter + boomerang is a good control combo... i used it once in my isochron deck... I used to cast it first turn with Sol Ring...

That is one of my favorite ideas. Casting Isochron Scepter on first turn with Sol Ring. I have Sol Ring, but I need Isochron Scepter.

yes if you have two out both will trigger if something is returned to hand so for every 1 return you will discard two

Also pithing needle can be destroyed too.. and oxidize can be countered...
