Suppose you use three lands.

1 forest
2 swamp

dark ritual

1 forest = fastbond
1 swamp + dark ritual = cloudstone curio

1 swamp = return another swamp.

tap add 1 black, play down the other swamp, return the tapped land.

tap add 1 black, play down the other swamp, return the tapped land.

play down circle of affliction. play down a swamp, return the last one to your hand. Start the circle of affliction kill.

That's a total of 5 damage from fastbond, and then you get the kill. 7 cards for the opening hand.

Meaning you can be the first person to go and do the kill.

Isn't there a card that says, "Prevent all damage a source would deal to you this turn. Gain that much life"?

But, if you're the first player to go, save for Force of Will, you're pretty much set. And unless they recognize what you're doing, there's always the chance they won't play it in time.

Since it's life loss, you don't need to worry about damage prevention.

Well, FoW is the ultimate card to prevent turn 1 wins... No argument about that... That is why this combo is better because of the lose life thing...

I think the most similar card Turbine is searching for is Samite Ministration.

yes demystify would work. There is always one monkey wrench or two out there. wax/Wane would work just as well

Even oxydize would work only if you go first... or maybe with elvish spirit guide...

Especially if it's the first turn. If you're playing with white, you're likely going to have a plains.
