It's cheaper that the Blazing Archon. The Blazing Archon doesn't have to hit thought, meaning it isn't affected by fog. Still cheaper means you can use it sooner, which is very good.

Well, if they have a card that gives them multiple attacks, then they get the other attacks, just not the first one.  This type of thing can be very common in a red deck.

Why does it seem like boomerang is the apt solution to most of these combos?

I'm not a fan of whispersilk cloak (I think it's way too overpowered) but this is a good combo nonetheless.

there are many ways to destroy artifacts, and with equips as the upgrade from creature enchantments, it makes sense to run a few, or sideboard them.
