I was always a fan of trying to utilize older cards, and although there are better combos, the idea of having an enchantment which cancels everything around it does seem fantastically menacing, despite being clunky to bring out.

Nice Combo of course if your opponent can play enough spells you may still be in trouble

gilder bairn. I use him for things like that. 4 mana to make 3 counter tokens 6. even if they cast 2 spells, next turn 4 becomes 8. It just is possible to make counters very fast.

pysche please reread the decree  gilder barne is not a good option

Or Vampire Hexmage maybe? Followed footsteps + Vampire Hexmage...

Vampire Hexmage and splinter twin + thornbite staff. The staff is problay not nessasary, but just in case. Since is is a sac the hexmage you just need to be able to have 1 for every 2 spells, or have the staff and splinter twin for infinite counters.
