This combo can be slightly altered, but if you have all three of these cards in your opening hand, including 2 Gemstone Caverns (or if you have a gemstone caverns and a simian/elvish spirit guide), let your opponent go first. If you do not, just use Summoner's Pacts or Street Wraiths to get the necessary cards. During their first upkeep, play your Gemstone Caverns('s) and/or spirit guide, and play the card flash. Flash in Protean Hulk, and allow it to die. From here, my favorite thing to do is to get 4 Disciple of the Vaults, then bring out at least 5 0/0 Sunburst creatures, allowing them to die and infliction 20+ damage. However, you can get any number of cards with mana cost under 6, so go crazy!

Protean hulk does not read any amount of creatures with casting cost 6 or less. It is total casting cost. So with 4 disciples thats only leaves you with 2 casting cost left and sunburst cards are not free. This combo is not valid

yes, it is valid. "search your library for ANY NUMBER OF CREATURES with TOTAL cating cost 6 OR LESS" X counts as 0, and he was talking about cards that cost X, are 0/0's and come into play with X +1/+1 counters on them. the only reason you would have for thinking this wasnt valid is because you are an idiot and you're jealous that you didnt think of this great combo before him.

Please name a sunburst creature with x casting cost.....there are none. there are no x casting cost SUNBURST creatures in the game of magic.....MAN I HATE NOOBS. Where you even a player when Fifth Dawn was released?

Thats also wrong noob. Why dont you read the card. This is what it reads exactly

When Protean Hulk is put into a graveyard from play, search your library for any number of creature cards with TOTAL CONVERTED mana cost less than or equal to 6, and put them into play. Then shuffle your library.

Why dont you learn the rules a little better, before you start making up fake combos

The only way this combo is valid is if you use shifting wall Phyrexian Marauder. Sunburst is the wrong creature type that was all i was saying, but some people like to spout off and be rude....That's a kid for you

there are no X cost 0/0 sunburst creatures, although I never said there were. I said he was talking about "cards that cost X, are 0/0's and come into play with X +1/+1 counters on them," and, further more, I know that they are TOTAL CONVERTED MANA COST SIX OR LESS. while i put "ANY NUMBER OF CREATURES with TOTAL cating cost 6 OR LESS," that was a typo and there is really no differance between converted mana cost and casting cost, however I did put total cost, which you are argueing that I didnt. furthermore, i was playing when fifth dawn, and I have made no mistake in the rules. while triggerhappy did make a mistake putting sunburst, it was an honest mistake...

All I was saying was that his combo was invalid as it was presented. Look at it from a brand new player who wants to have awsome an combo perspective. He is gonna think you can bring out any number of creatures with mana cost 6 or less and that sunburst creatures are valid in this combo. You and I for instance would be able to read through the typo's and know what he means. A new player probaly would not (considering Protean Hulk isn't the easiest card to understand). I wasen't even being rude. The only reason I started beingarude was because you decided to call me an idiot (which I wouldn't have minded if I was wrong)

OK. Well I have very much enjoyed this barrage of insults aimed at me for no apparent reason. I realize my mistake with the 6 or less. Thanks to both of you. There are at least 2 creatures that have mana cost X, and are X/X creatures, so that could work.

Also, I am not a kid or a noob, but I am not quite sure when 5th Dawn came out. I probably was not playing Magic when it came out, but regardless...

ixidorofice is right, but to be honest, it looks like triggerhappy just copied the combo from the youtube "win turn 0" or just found it elsewhere online and decided to post it while trying to make modifications to personalize it.

The combo has been on Youtube for a few years now, but yes, you could counter this combo with Force of Will or Contagion (among other things).
