I think star Trek is better because:

1. Superior Plotlines

2. Better Character Development

3. Real Sacrafice (Not Cheap Kill Me Darth Vader Obi-Wan Sacrafice)

4. In a fight it actually would win even if wars had death star

5. Trekkies or Trekkers have a name Star Wars fans don't

6. KAHN!!!!!!!

7. Ok Sisko was just cool

8. Rules of Acquisition 94, 34, 35, and 111

9. Greater Film Legacy and MUCH better TV shows

10. No Jar-Jar, Ewoks, Ashoka, or A Star Wars Christmas Special

I have to say that the Star Wars movies are better than the Star Trek movies.

However, all together, Star Trek wins.

  1. Vague and unmearsable
  2. Compare total hours
  3. Can't see how that isn't a sacrifice. . .
  4. Compare specs, no (me and my friend had an elaborate debate over this)
  5. Which is a plus for Starwars fans

  8. Bad taste, True, Un-True, and more bad taste
  9. The legacy, not really. The shows YEAH
  10. not that Startrek doesn't have its own downsides.

Why I think Star Wars is better.

1.) Total Plot twists within the film. i.e. Darth Vader is Luke's Father, Darth Vader betrays the Empire, Palpatine is Darth Sideous.

2.) The cool fighters.

3.) Classic and amazing Battle scenes.

4.) Machines that no one would ever think of. i.e. Deathstar, At-At, Pod-racers, S.T.A.Ps.

5.) Total underdogs throughout the Films. i.e. Ewoks beating the Storm Troopers with Sticks, and Rocks, A farm boy destroying the empire, slave destroying and entire robot army by himself.

I hate the stupid underdog theme. Since when does a normal person destroy an entire empire?

Anyway, the vote is 3:1

Just so people know, I like both of them, but like Star Trek more.

Star Trek had doomsday machines I.e. planet busters. Enterprise shield feats doomsday machine withheld veger with held Enterprise D flew into the Sun. As for plot twists spock is alive spocks brother has emotion and is evil klingons switching sides Kirk isn't dead (generations and the enterprise incident. Cool fighters meet the defiant or the delta flyer both small and both kick rear end. Spock sacrafice greater obi-wan could have bought more time by fighting/ surrender to death not heroic sacrafice. Star trek how often are they outgunned and outnumbered? At under dog theme. I don't see how time figuries in to character development. i.e. Zam Wezel, Qui-Gon, Darth Maul, Mace Windu (not that sam jackson isn't a BA), and the Fetts (not that they aren't BAs as well)  Plenty of time little character development

A lot of star trek's technology makes  no practical sense. 

Also Turbine, now the redringer weighed in, it is 2:3 (star war's favor)

where go ahead with practicality plus red ringer needs to learn to apply logic so disregard. I don't see how that lightsabers cut through anything except some metal rods general grevious and his gaurds use. Ion cannon would need to more acurately be electron cannon to work.

Lightsabers have nothing to do with light (contrayey to name I know) they are plasma, which would have the properties desplayed in the movies.

Star Wars has the planet size space station and the force, but Startrek has the borg and red matter. I think Star Wars will win in a all out space battle.

The people who vote for Star Wars probably just think that Star Trek is like the new movie.

Also, saying that "star trek is just way to gay" shows your ignorance and stupidity. I don't see any homosexual themes in Star Trek, and I have trouble listening to someone who can't even bother to spell right and use correct grammar.

NO Starcraft should never be a movie.  The books were worse than the plot of the game, so I can't imagine how much worse a movie would be.

Star wars all the way, and as for character development, I will you trek for that area, but they also had entire series to do it, staw wars only had 3 movies.  When you look at the trek movies there was just as much development amoung the characters as star wars

Oh and turbine, you might not have seen them since you are young, but in all the trek series there was a least 1 episode that dealt with homosexual themes

11 trek and removing bad ones 5, 7, 9, and 10 thats still seven movies taking out bad star wars PM, ATOTC, ROTS three. even if you hate three one and four thats still four good trek movies

yes i know there are 6 but in terms of chacater development, such as luke, leia, and han, there were only 3 since most of the characters did not cross over between the triologys, or had smaller roles when they did

And just for the record I did not say Star trek was gay, I said it had gay themes, which is one of the 2 things I give it, 1) its science isbased on actual scientific therorys, rather then making something up for the entertainment value, which I can appricate (in fact had many drunk talks with my roomates over the years concerning that).  2nd I have to give them credit for pushing the envelope of the times, i mean a russian on the command team during the cold war, an african-american FEMALE in a position of power with actual dialog.

however star wars is still superior to me do to the truth in the human struggle of right and wrong

The thing I don't like about the starwars light vs. dark thing is that it fails to incorperate the middle ground of neaturel state.  Which fills the bulk of human life.
