The judge at my FNM thinks that Rite of Replication on Ondu Cleric, you will gain 36 life. I think that you will gain 180 life. Can someone show me the actual rulings for this on the official Magic rules?

1) if you disagree with a judge you can argue your case with the head judge, if it is the head judge you are SOL as there word is law weither correct or not.  Though you can talk to them afterwards

2) the rule your looking for is from gatherer on rite of replication

The tokens see each other enter the battlefield. If they have a triggered ability that triggers when a creature enters the battlefield, they'll all trigger for one another.

so 5 creatures enter play, each triggers 5 times, counting 6 allies each time

He claims that Ondu cleric would net 36 life.

He's wrong, from the rule I just showed you. Each of the five clericscome into play at the same time and see each other come into play, so each one triggers for itself plus 4 others, with the orginal triggering for the 5 new ones, end result  is...

6 allys each triggering 5 times for 30 triggers total, each trigger counting 6 allys(assuming the cleric was the only ally in play rites resolution) when it resolves, so 6*30=180 life

However, if after discussing the situation and the head judge doesn't agree with you and says that you get 36 life (he is assuming each comes in seperately) then you get 36 life.  While you have the right to discuss it with him afterwards, in the middle of the match, hiweither he is right or wrong his word is law,.  And if you still don't like his discision feel free to report him to Wizards.  Though I don't recommend that as most judges for non-tournament play are your store owners, not the person you want to piss off.

I have no idea what a head judge is anyway. (^_^) If he doesn't believe me, then I will just leave it be.

Hmmmm, a judge that doesn't know the rules is just plain stupid... They are there to know the rules... Have you ever seen a trial judge that doesn't know the law?
